This work asks the question: what sounds do trees make when no person is there to hear them?
All sounds explored are derived from the harp, with extensive use of percussive sounds and textural gestures forming the piece.
The harp is approached as if it were a tree, and the piece follows a gradual movement from the bottom of the roots to the tops of the branches – engaging with all parts of the harp as a sound object, rather than an instrument.

The result is an equivocal sound-walk through a tree’s anatomy, along with an imagined dialogue with its surroundings.
